UBorrow Video Tutorial

UBorrow from Lawrence W. Tyree Library on Vimeo.

This video tutorial will demonstrate how to use UBorrow to request books from other Florida libraries.

As you research in the library catalog, you may find that the Tyree Library does not have the specific books you need for an assignment. The library catalog connects to a service called UBorrow, which allows you to expand your search to all of the Florida public colleges and universities.

To enter the union catalog and use the UBorrow service, click the link that says “Show items that you can request statewide” with the UBorrow icon.

This will take you to the union catalog, showing the results for your search in all 40 libraries, which includes the 28 state colleges and 12 public universities.

Books that are eligible to be borrowed will have the UBorrow icon. eBooks and videos are typically not eligible to be borrowed and will not display the icon.

You may click the title to learn more about a book, or click Show All Locations to see which libraries own the title.

Click the UBorrow icon to request the book.

If you are not already logged in, you will be taken to a log in screen. Your Borrower ID is your 8-digit Santa Fe ID number with no hyphen. Your PIN is the last four digits of your SF ID number.

Use the menu to specify a pickup location. If you wish to pick up the book at the Library, choose Santa Fe/Northwest Campus. If you attend classes at an SF Center, you may choose the Center you prefer.

After placing the request, you will see a confirmation screen.

To see details about your requests, click the Requests button at the top of either the union catalog or the Santa Fe College library catalog.

You will be able to see the status of your requests, along with an option to cancel. Books may take up to two weeks to arrive, although most will be available sooner.

You will receive an email at your official Santa Fe College email when the book has arrived, and you may pick it up at the 1st floor Circulation Desk. Books will be checked out to you for 60 days.

This concludes the video tutorial on using UBorrow. If you need help requesting a book or have any other questions, please contact a librarian:
