Information on how to use the built-in citation tools in many of the library databases to generate citations, along with examples of correct citations.

Instructions

  1. Click the icon that looks like a quotation mark with the letter C above the article:

  2. Choose the citation style:

  3. Copy the generated citation:
    Generated citation in NewsBank
  4. Carefully review punctuation and capitalization of the generated citation. Particularly pay attention to any mention of 'staff writer' and the formatting of the newspaper's name, which often includes the state in parentheses.
