Note: Films on Demand does not provide many of the required elements such as director or original date. Use what you can and leave off elements you are unable to find. You may choose to look up documentaries on IMDB to identify these components.

Instructions

  1. Under the video, click Cite.
    Citation Tools
  2. Select either MLA or Chicago.
    Citation examples
  3. Carefully review punctuation and capitalization of the generated citation.

Sample Citations

Use the following template to create APA references to videos in Films on Demand.

Director Name (Director). (Year). Title of film [Film]. Production Company.

If there is no director, begin with the title of the video and move the date after the title component.


An introduction to philosophy [Film]. (1976). BBC.

Pollard, S. (Director). (2021). Black art: In the absence of light [Film]. HBO.

Renaissances [TV series episode]. (2018). In Civilizations. PBS.
