Information on how to use the built-in citation tools in many of the library databases to generate citations, along with examples of correct citations.

Google Scholar

Citation Formats Supported

  • APA
  • Chicago Notes & Bibliography
  • MLA (6th edition, which is very outdated)

Instructions

  1. Click the icon that looks like a quotation mark.
  2. Carefully review the formatting, punctuation, and capitalization of the generated citation. Google Scholar does not usually include the DOI in its generated citations, which is required by all major citation formats.
