Reserve Collection

The Reserve Collection is located behind the first floor Circulation Desk and contains items for use in the library. Faculty, staff, and departments may place copyright-compliant textbooks, supplemental readings, media, and other materials in this collection to make them accessible to students. Personal copies as well as existing items from the Circulating, Youth, and Media Collections may be placed on reserve. The Library does not purchase materials specifically for the Reserve Collection.

Instructions

  • Complete and sign the Library Course Reserve Form.
  • Bring that form with the materials to the 1st floor Circulation Desk.
  • Allow approximately one week for processing.
  • Be aware of copyright guidelines and information.
  • The instructor or department placing materials on reserve is responsible for ensuring copyright compliance.

Additional Information

  • Course packs, consumables (such as workbooks) may not be placed on reserve.
  • Reference materials as well as materials from other libraries may not be placed on reserve.
  • Photocopies (subject to fair use copyright regulation) may be placed on reserve for a maximum period of one semester.
  • Materials other than photocopies may be placed on reserve for a renewable maximum period of two years.
  • At the conclusion of the reserve period, materials will be returned to the instructor or department who placed those materials on reserve. Materials released from reserve are not the responsibility of the Library.
