Building Accessibility
The library building (Building Y) is equipped with front entry wheelchair ramps, electronic door openers for the front door and first floor restrooms, handicapped restroom stalls and water fountains, two central elevators, and low counter heights at service desks. There are eight handicapped parking spots in the lot directly east of the Library (facing the Fine Arts Hall) and two handicapped parking spots behind the Library near the Police Department.
Service Animals
As set forth in College Procedure 6.5P and defined by the ADAAA and §413.081, F.S., service animals, but not emotional support animals, are welcome in the Library without prior approval or authorization.
Library Resources
The Tyree Library has many online resources that can be accessed from both on and off campus. The collection currently includes over 80,000 eBooks, 37,000 streaming videos, and access to over 90 library databases, which provide online access to millions of journal, magazine, and newspaper articles. For instructions on how to access these resources, you may contact the Library's Reference Desk in-person on the second floor, by phone at 352-395-5409, or via online chat.
Assistive Technologies
The Library has two computers on adjustable tables with adaptive software and large-print keyboards, available on the first and second floors. The first floor computer has a trackball mouse, and the second floor computer has a joystick mouse.
There are two adjustable tables for use on the second and third floors, and one adjustable-height computer workstation outside of Y-207 on the second floor.
Two book-edge scanners, located on the second floor, can scan materials into a searchable PDF or audio file.
