OER Repositories

At this time, there is no central OER repository. Instead, numerous academic institutions are maintaining their own collection. Click on the tabs below to view various repositories, or click on the Subject-Specific page to find a textbook by discipline.

Finding OER

Open Textbook Library (highly recommended - very large selection)
This repository is maintained by the Open Textbook Network, housed at the University of Minnesota. The majority of Textbooks are peer reviewed with 5 star rating system. They are all licensed with GNU GPL and Creative Commons licenses (most commonly CC BY).
OpenStax
Created and maintained by Rice University, OpenStax textbooks are peer-reviewed and free!
BCcampus - OpenEd
This Canadian-focused repository links to a number of OER textbooks.
GALILEO Open Learning Materials
This repository collects resources throughout the Georgia state university system. It is maintained by Affordable Learning Georgia. Most works have a Creative Commons license.
Open SUNY
This repository includes OER materials from the State University of New York.
Canvas Commons
Repository of shared courses, and course material made for adding to Canvas courses directly. Click the Commons icon in the left Canvas navigation bar.

CCCOER: Community College Consortium for OER
A collaborative effort between community colleges, this site provides webinars and case studies in support of OER adoption.
George Mason University's OER Search Engine
George Mason provides their Mason OER Metafinder (MOM) as a tool to find OER materials (photographs, historical books, etc.) across websites.

Large collection of peer reviewed materials from textbooks, to entire courses, to individual modules, to images, videos, presentations, and supplementary materials.
