Books

Books provide an in-depth look at a topic, but on a broader scale. However, due to publishing schedules, they may not have the latest information. You will use the library catalog to look up books about specific topics, or you may browse certain areas to find relevant titles.

The Tyree Library has over 160,000 print and electronic books in its collection. As a Santa Fe student you can check out books, read eBooks online, and access materials on course reserve from the Library. You may use your SF ID card to check out library materials.

Finding Books

Searching

You can access the library catalog by clicking Catalog from the Library's homepage. Type in a common phrase or concept, then search. Note that in this example, "food trucks" is in quotation marks. This is called phrase searching. The quotation marks tells a search tool to look for both of these words together (as a phrase).

On the results page, you can narrow your search by format, collection, subject, etc. by using the facets on the left of the page.

Locating Books

Print books include a call number, which is the address for a book. Most books are in the Circulating Collection on the third floor, which means you can check them out. Use the call number to locate the book.
