Using the Library Catalog

Type the name of your shrine/temple into the library catalog:

Catalog search for: keyword = yakasunki shrine

For print books, copy the call number to find it in the Library. Books in the Circulating Collection are on the third floor. You may check out 20 books for 4 weeks with your SF ID card.

For eBooks and streaming videos, click the Available Online link and log in. Use your Office 365 login to access the full text.

Using an Index

Many academic books include an index, a list of all topics covered within the book and the corresponding page numbers, at the back of the book. You can look up your temple in the index to see if it is included in the book.

In this book, for example, the index shows that information about the Atsuta shrine is on page 59.

The library catalog allows you to view and requests books from the other Florida statewide institutions (12 state universities and 28 state colleges). Simply change your search to the Statewide Catalog.

Look for the results that state Check in other libraries.

You will need to sign in with your Office 365 account to place a request.

Choose the UBorrow Request option once you have signed in.

WorldCat

To look for books outside of Florida, use Worldcat. You may request books via interlibrary loan.

Recommended Titles

To locate print books (with the book icon), copy the call number and go to the third floor of the Library. You can view a tutorial about how to locate items with call numbers.

Read eBooks (with the  icon) online by clicking the title and logging in with your Office 365 account, if prompted.

You may borrow up to 20 items for four weeks at a time. Bring the book to the first floor Circulation Desk with your SF ID to check it out!
