  • An Introduction to Self-Regulation - Research shows that self-regulated children become much more successful in later life. This introductory program gives a clear explanation of what self-regulation is, explaining four basic psychological principles that are the bedrock of self-regulation.
  • Parenting 101: Basic Skills for Raising Confident Children - While there are no miraculous shortcuts to successful parenthood, there are fellow travelers and professional experts who can shed light on the parenting journey. This video presents just such an opportunity for new moms and dads. 
  • Recognizing Child Abuse - Tragically, child abuse often goes unnoticed. This program spells out the four Rs of child abuse—the harsh reality of its presence in our society, the results it leads to, the many ways to recognize it, and the proper channels for reporting it.
  • Babies Outdoors, Play, Development, and Learning - Babies are sensory motor learners and the outdoors stimulates all their senses. This program examines development of vision, hearing, and touch, as well as motor development as the babies learn to reach, grasp, sit, crawl, and in some cases walk.
  • Learning Through Play, Observation of a 3 to 4 Year Old - Filmed over a year, this program follows a 3-year-old boy busy playing in a variety of settings. Each sequence shows how Seb's playful activity involves many aspects of the characteristics of effective learning and  shows the noticeable changes in Seb's development.
  • Firm Foundations for Early Literacy, 0 to 5 Years - This program shows how to lay the foundations for developing literacy skills from birth up to the age of five, providing insights into how playful activities support the development of language, reading, and writing. 
  • The Social Toddler - Early childhood is a time of complex social and cognitive development. This video sheds light on toddler behavior and presents strategies for coping with children in the 1-to-3-year-old range.

  • TEDTalks: Temple Grandin - The World Needs All Kinds of Minds - Temple Grandin, diagnosed with autism as a child, talks about how her mind works—sharing her ability to “think in pictures,”" which helps her solve problems that neurotypical brains might miss. She makes the case that the world needs people on the autism spectrum: visual thinkers, pattern thinkers, verbal thinkers, and all kinds of smart geeky kids.
  • TEDTalks: Annie Murphy Paul - What We Learn Before We're Born  - Pop quiz: When does learning begin? Answer: Before we are born. In this TEDTalk, science writer Annie Murphy Paul talks through new research that shows how much we learn in the womb—from the lilt of our native language to our soon-to-be-favorite foods.
