Hello! This video tutorial will walk through the steps needed to make an appointment with a librarian for research help in Navigate.
Librarians at Santa Fe College are available to help you with all aspects of research, including finding, evaluating, and citing sources. Research help is available in-person at the Tyree Library and Blount Hall or via phone, email, or chat, but you can also make an appointment in Navigate.
To schedule a research appointment in Navigate, begin by logging into eSantaFe.
Once you are logged into eSantaFe, choose Schedule Appointment.
This opens the Navigate interface. Click Schedule an Appointment.
For the type of appointment, select Library Research Help.
Under Service, choose if you would like your appointment to be in-person, by phone, or online via Zoom.
Finally, choose the day you wish to have your appointment. You may request same-day appointments, but the appointment must be made at least four hours in advance. Click Find Available Time.
In-person library research help is available in two locations: The Tyree Library on the Northwest Campus, which is Building Y, and in downtown Gainesville at Blount Hall, room DB-213C. Select your location for an in-person appointment.
Once you have selected a location for in-person assistance, or if you chose the phone or Zoom option, you will see available appointment times. Choose the date and time that works best for your schedule.
The next screen provides the appointment details, along with a comment box to share more information about what you need help with.
It is highly recommended that you include information about your assignment and research needs in the comment box so that the librarian can prepare prior to your appointment.
There are also options for you to provide an email address and phone number to receive appointment reminders. Once you are finished, click the Schedule button.
A success screen appears once the appointment is scheduled. Click View Appointments to see your scheduled appointments.
Upcoming appointments are listed on your Appointments screen, and you may click an appointment to see the details.
You will also receive an email to your college email address with your appointment information. This email includes details on how to attend your appointment, such as the location, Zoom link, or phone number.
Your confirmation email also includes a link to Cancel Appointment if you are no longer able to make your appointment.
Clicking the Cancel Appointment link in your email takes you to a form in Navigate where you can choose the reason for the cancellation and provide optional comments.
