Student Services

An overview of the library services available to students at Santa Fe College.

Reserve a Study Room

The library is currently under construction to incorporate the new Learning Commons into the Library building. The availability of rooms will change throughout the renovation process.

For more study spaces throughout campus please see Library Building Renovations.

Group Study Rooms

Currently enrolled or employed SF students, faculty, and staff may make a reservation for a study room through the online booking system. Reservations may be made up to two weeks in advance. Users must go to the 2nd floor Reference Desk at the time of their reservation to receive the room reservation card. Failure to show within 15 minutes after the reserved time will result in cancellation of that reservation. Anyone using a study room without a reservation will be asked to yield the room for a group with a reservation.

The Library currently has two types of study rooms. Availability of rooms may change throughout the Spring and Summer 2019 semesters as construction and renovation of the 1st and 2nd floors occur.

  • Small Group Study Rooms (Y205 - 208) - Four small group study rooms are available for groups of 2-4 people. Two students are required to check in and maintain the reservation.
  • Large Group Study Rooms (Y233 & Y239) - Two large group study rooms are available for groups of 5-16 people. A minimum of 5 people is required to use a large group study room and four or more students are required to be in the study room to retain a reservation.

All rooms include a table, chairs, two whiteboards, and a television with the ability to hook up a laptop.

General Rules

  • Group study rooms are for educational purposes only. No groups or individuals may charge fees to attend or participate in a group or use the study rooms.
  • Anyone using a study room without a reservation will be asked to yield the room for a group with a reservation.
  • Patrons who are unable to make their reserved time should contact the Library at 352-395-5409 or by email at reference@sfcollege.edu. Failure to show within 15 minutes after the reserved time will result in cancelation of that reservation.
  • In order to provide equity of service, during the last two weeks of fall and spring semesters, the library will limit group study room use. The limited rules will be posted at those times.
  • In accordance with Santa Fe College Rule 6.4 – Use of College Facilities, the library study rooms may not be used by tutors not employed by the college.
  • Patrons may not leave personal items unattended in the study rooms. Any items left in study rooms will be taken to the SF Police Department’s Lost and Found. Library staff is not responsible for personal property left in study rooms by patrons. Library staff cannot lock/unlock a room during a reservation.
  • If all patrons leave the study room at the same time during the period of their reservation, they forfeit their reservation. The room will become available to other students for use.
